It cannot be denied that the Nannette Streicher fortepiano in the castle in Leut, Kasteel Vilain Xllll, would never have gained a public identity or existence so quickly, if it had not been for that wonderful moment in May or June 1998 when the supposed harpsichord that had been buried under a thick layer of dust in the castle attics was revealed to be an authentic "Nannette Streicher (née Stein) und Sohn (Johann Baptiste)" fortepiano, complete with serial number 2090 and dated Vienna 1826.
