Rules
1. General
1.2. The Competition is open to singers aged 18-36 and accompanists aged 18-32 (at the opening of the Competition).

2.2. The sending date is determined by the postage stamp.
2.3. The application form is available from the "Competitions, Festivals, Conferences" of the official website of the Kazan State Conservatoire ().
2.4. The application should be accompanied by the following documents (if sent by email, the size of the attached file should not exceed 1Mb):
• A copy of your passport;
• A copy of your music diploma or certificate;
• A CV indicating your studies and/or working position(s);
• A reference from a director of an educational institution or a concert organisation or two references from well-known musicians;
• A colour photo, 13x18 cm, with your name on the reverse side.
2.5. Each participant will receive an official invitation from the Organising Committee before Oct. 1, 2007.
2.6. A registration fee of 1000 rubles shall be paid in cash at the Competition venue during the registration before the opening of the Competition. The registration fee is not refundable.
3. The Competition procedure3.1. The Competition will consist of three rounds, which will be open to the public.
3.2. The Competition will take place at the Salikh Saidashev Grand Concert Hall of the Republic of Tatarstan.
3.3. The order of performances will be determined by drawing one day before the opening of the Competition and will remain unchanged throughout it.
3.4. Prize winners of other international or national competitions are not exempt from participation in the first round.
3.5. Before each round, participants will have an opportunity to practice in the Grand Concert Hall.
3.6. The Organising Committee will provide participants with rooms for practicing (for up to 2 hours per day).
3.7. No more than 50% of competitors will be selected for the second round.
3.8. No more than 12 competitors will be selected for the final round.
3.9. The Jury reserves the right to reduce, through the concerted decision of all its members, the competitor's repertoire or to stop the performance if it exceeds the time limit or if its results are evident.
3.10. Singers shall perform all pieces of their repertoire from memory. Accompanists shall perform their vocal transcription from memory in the second round.
3.11. Both members of a duo or only one of them may take part in the Competition.
3.12. If only one member of a duo is taking part in the Competition, the other is performing without competing. Singers and accompanists may perform without competing with more than one competitor.
3.13. The Organising Committee does not provide accompanists or singers for competitors except for the performance of an arrangement of a Tartar folk song in the third round (see below).
3.14. If one of competing duo members is not selected for the next round, he/she continues to perform without competing.
3.15. Generally, the competition repertoire shall be performed in original languages except for Tatar pieces. Their translated versions may be used.
3.16. Vocal works may be transposed.
3.17. In case of need the Organising Committee will send Tatar scores by prior request.
3.18. After the announcement of the results of the second round, the accompanists taking part in the Competition will be offered a Tartar folk song, selected by the Jury, for arrangement. In the third round, this arrangement shall be performed with a singer provided by the Organising Committee.
3.19. Decisions on the distribution of prizes will be made during the Jury's final meeting.
3.20. The Jury's decisions are final and irrevocable.
3.21. Winners of the Competition shall participate in the final concerts on a gratis basis.
3.22. The Organising Committee reserves the right to broadcast and record the Competition rounds and winners' concerts without paying fees to competitors.
3.23. The competitors failing to comply with the Competition regulations may be suspended from further participation by the Jury's decision.
4. Prizes and awards4.1. The following prizes and diplomas will be awarded:

4.2. Prize money will be taxed according to the tax law of the Russian Federation.
4.3. The Jury reserves the right to withhold some prizes and/or diplomas and to divide prizes between performers except for the Grand Prix.
4.4. Jury reserves the right to award special diplomas and encouragement prizes.
4.5. Governmental, nongovernmental and commercial organisations, media, institutions, creative unions and individuals may award their prizes to competitors. These prizes will be awarded by the Jury's decision.
5. Accomodation5.1. Competitors, other participants and their companions shall cover all costs incurred by travelling and staying in Kazan and arrange all necessary insurances in advance.
5.2. The Organising Committee will book rooms in a 3-star hotel for competitors, other participants and their companions upon prior request.
In case of any discrepancies, the Russian version of the above regulations is authoritative.

1. A song by a Russian composer of the XX-XXI c.
2. A song by a Tartar composer or a composer of the competitor's country of the XX-XXI c.
3. A song by a foreign (non-Russian) composer of the XX-XXI c.
4. One of the following songs by R. Yakhin:
• "Не улетай, соловей" ("Ne uletai, solovei" – Don't fly away, nightingale)
• "В душе весна" ("V dushe vesna" – Spring in my Soul)
• "Для тебя" ("Dlya tebya" – For You)
• "Верю" ("Veryu" – I believe)
• "Белый парус" ("Belyi parus" – White Sail)
• "В минуты трудные" ("V minuty trudnye" – In difficult moments)
• "Волны, волны" ("Volny, volny" – Waves, waves)
• "Тебя желанней нет" ("Tebya zhelannei net" – You are all I want)
• A song from the song cycle "The Moabit Copybook"
5. A piano transcription of a vocal work (to be performed by an accompanist).
Final Round
1. A song cycle, its part or several works of the same composer forming an opus. Maximum duration: 20 min.
2. A song by a Russian composer of the second half of the XIX c.
3. A song by a foreign (non-Russian) composer of the second half of the XIX c.
4. A song by R. Yakhin.
5. An arrangement of a Tartar folk song (to be performed by an accompanist).
