У многих из нас где-то валяются забавные тексты из западных изданий равно как и посты частных лиц на разные форумы, где изложены взгляды на наши реалии ( а возможно и не наши - А?), когда-то вызвавшие нашу улыбку и даже негодование. А не свалить ли все сюда? Разумеется, прежде всего по теме форума.
Одна проблема - перевод. У меня, например, нет серьезных проблем с английским , в остальном же ....

Предложения?

С английским у многих нет проблем. Тем не менее, тексты на иностранных языках в форуме не всегда приветствуются. Но можно попробовать - почему нет. Думаю, я бы и сам многие вещи с удовольствием почитал.

Пишет не критик а музыкант, молодой пианист, молодой нонкомформист . Это не критическая статья а желание поделиться впечатлением с коллегами. Все искренно и трогательно . Но дочитайте до конца цитаты... (не бегите сразу к концу!)

This work, known to most as the Death and the Maiden, or to the purists
as D. 810, has taken over my psyche. I can't get it out of my head, so pure and raw is the emotionality. More than anything Beethoven wrote, and certainly more than anything written by a Romantic after Schubert, I think this quartet successfully mates Romantic sweep and Classical functionality, and it is full of brilliant touches. Take the close of the exposition - all the fiddling comes to a close with two chords, E major7 and A minor. That bold gesture doesn't receive an answer... instead there is a series of deceptions, and the movement ends quietly. Then the variations kick in, but I still have those two chords lingering in my memory, like portents. Then the scherzo, and then a galloping finale. You think it might end in the major at several points, but instead - ah, but there is the answer - right at the end of the quartet. I've heard three recordings of this work. The one that made my heart cry was the Juilliard Quartet, played with a symphonic sound, a deep understanding and an unrelenting intensity. Coupled with the Horszowski/Budapest "Trout" Quintet, I can't imagine a better buy at $8. (выделено мною)

Reading back through some earlier posts, I find a statement by Tom Deacon
that I'm inclined in essence to agree with:

"Personally, I do not think that any musician can stand aside from his
political views; that they will always impregnate his or her playing.
You play the way you are."

The link between many aspects of music making and politics is undeniable
to
me, though harder to substantiate verbally in brief, lucid phrases and
sentences. One of the many attractions of HIP performances of Beethoven
Symphonies stem from the fact that they seem to offer an alternative view
of
Beethoven to that which Hitler, Churchill and Stalin were all able to
appropriate for their own ends. Beethoven's status as a radical
bourgeois
can still be progressive and have relevance today, though absolutely
requires historical contextualization for this to be possible (see what I
mean about the problems with lucidity! ). There is something for me
in a
lot of late-Romantic Russian music and Russian schools of playing that
has
connotations of a nostalgia for the old feudal, pre-communist days. As a
socialist who is dissatisfied by the late-capitalist commodity culture of
today, I look in music for something that offers an alternative to this,
that which has a depth and humanity that exceeds the strait-jackets that
the
'culture industry' creates, and as such is able to offer a visionary
quality.

Anyhow, more to the point, I'm interested generally in people's thoughts
on
the manners by which both composers' and performers' work might be said
to
reflect what we know of their political ideologies (whether conscious or
sub-conscious), and possibly the contradictions therein.
